Cleo is excited to teach her friends about mindful eating. But she soon faces a dilemma-her favorite leaf is missingWith her friends’ help, Cleo sets out to find her leaf. Using their senses, they spot the leaf high in a branch. They use teamwork to capture the leaf. Cleo then gathers her friends around her to practice mindful eating. As they eat, they notice the beauty of the world around them. Cleo ends the day thankful for the memory and for her friends.
In this lesson, students explore the benefits of mindful eating through activities that engage all five senses. By noticing how they feel before, during, and after eating, students build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and appreciation for healthy choices-key components of social and emotional learning.
