Nolan, Tim: – Tim Nolan received a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, an MFA from Columbia University, and JD from William Mitchell College of Law. He is an attorney in Minneapolis. During his time at Columbia, Nolan was the managing editor of Columbia: A Magazine of Poetry & Prose, and for five years he was the primary poetry reader at The Paris Review. His work has been published in The Gettysburg Review, The Nation, The New Republic, Ploughshares, and many other publications. In 2014, his poem, Red Wing Correctional Facility, was a finalist for the Forward Poetry Prize in London. He has received grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, a residency at the Anderson Center, and was recently a finalist for the Mudfish Poetry Prize judged by Edward Hirsch. This is Nolan’s third book with New Rivers Press. THE SOUND OF IT, appeared in 2008 and was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award, and And Then appeared in 2012.
